Scams To Avoid...
Save Your Time & Money

Scams are sadly a reality in our society. The "love of money" has taken it's nasty hold upon many people. This is a subject not to be looked over. Many people are losing their hard-earned money each year to "get rich quick" schemes and con-artists.

I've certainly lost alot of my own money and time to scams such as these. It's my hope that YOU will be informed and educated enough to make a wise decision on working from home.

No one should have their money stolen this way. Use your God-given discernment when choosing legitimate at home income. Be sure to check out all of the "contact" links provided. If there are none... move on!

Common WAH Scams:

  • Typing at home:

The ads for this type of work from home are everywhere. They claim, "Make $5000/month typing at home." Typing is very appealing work to many moms (and some dads too). It provides the ability to stay home doing something that is easy and enjoyable.

I tried this out myself, with two different companies. I signed up with both companies for about $60. I was given a personalized URL, that I could post their ads anywhere, and if someone clicked on my link and signed up, I would receive $10. They also claimed I would make .10 per click.

I used the listing provided by the company of places to post ads for free, and even used a few paid ads. I did this for a couple months and did not make a single penny! I wasted my time posting ads trying to get people to sign up for the same scam I did. I began writing the few people who did respond by email to tell them the truth about this WAH "opportunity"!

Both companies had refund policies and after requesting my refund 7 times and filing with the BBB, I still did not receive my money back! The majority of "at home typing" jobs advertised are SCAMS. Beware!

  • Assembly Work:

This type of "work" is found in most Work From Home compilations and digests. To register for this kind of work you are most always required to send them a fee ($20-$50). Then, they mail out instructions and specifications on how the completed project should look. Many times, for another fee, you can order a sample of the completed work.

These companies should always be checked out with the BBB, and contact information verified. The majority of the complaints for this type of "work" are refund complaints and refusal to accept work completed.

Many people have worked long hours completing assembly work just to be told by the company that their work did not meet quality standards. They are then refused payment for their work!

I advise using extreme caution when dealing with any company offering assembly work from home.

More than half of these companies are complete scams. If you happen to have a hobby or skill doing craftwork, woodwork, or making jewelry; your best money-making option is to sell them on your own.

Most cities have Flea Markets and Craft Shows where you can display and sell your work at a price you are comfortable with. Assembly work companies only pay wholesale per piece, if they pay at all.

  • Medical Billing:

I paid $500 to earn my Degree online to do medical billing from home. The company failed to inform me that unless you already have at least 3 years of experience working in a medical office doing billing, NO doctor will contract with you.

This is a good work from home job for those who already have experience doing it. It is a scam for people with no previous experience. These companies are making alot of money off of inexperienced moms (and dads) who simply want to work from home.

They claim that once you are degreed online you can begin working immediately from home. They give you a large list of doctors who you can potentially "contract" with.

The truth is that the majority of these doctors do not need any help with their billing! Secondly, they would never hire someone, newly degreed, with no "in-office" experience. This is a scam. Save your money!

  • MLM's or Network Marketing:

MLM's and Network Marketing companies recruit people to become distributors of their products. You are told once you recruit 3-10 people you'll receive commissions from every person you get to sign up under you (your downline).

These pyramid schemes have left numbers of people with less money then they started with. Most often, you will have nothing more to show than the products you were required to buy from them, at sign up. The company may tell you to refer as many of your family and friends as possible.

There may be a few legitimate network marketing companies out there. But for the majority, I advise you to steer clear of them! This is a very popular scam, but a scam none-the-less.
